David A. Goldoff
Founder & President
Licensed Broker and Managing Agent
Camelot Realty Group was founded in 2006 by David A. Goldoff (47), with 23 years of property management experience. The company's success can be attributed to David's expertise in acquisitions, property management, licensed brokerage, project management, and asset maintenance. David is an exceptional manager of Camelot Realty Group's operations budget, compliance with local laws, and management resources. In addition to managing rental properties of all sizes, Camelot also manages condos, cooperatives, and bank-owned properties. Under his leadership, his services division expanded to Camelot's brokerage division, which has leased various properties since 2000. He first worked for his family's real estate company as an owner under his father and uncle, Barry and Robert Goldoff.
His early experience included identifying value-added assets, executing value-added strategies, sourcing service providers, leasing, and managing properties. Having worked closely with his father and uncle (identical twins), he better understood business ownership. It was like having two dads and bosses working together on acquisitions, negotiating contracts, meeting with partners, bankers, and vendors, especially dealing with renters.
He developed budgets for renovating apartments, reducing costs, increasing cash flow, and working with brokerages to sell conversions from rentals to co-ops and condos of his family's properties. As a result of these experiences, David obtained his Broker's License early in his career. David's experience before real estate was in the advertising industry. His BS degree in Advertising and Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts enabled him to develop products that are easy to sell and lease. Since his family developed properties, David has gained experience with construction, lenders, investors, traders, buyers, and brokers. The Goldoff family created a small mixed-use condominium in Soho. Early on, David realized that success depends on building a solid team, planning and executing, and adapting quickly to market changes. Besides learning from his father and uncle's experiences, he gained substantial experience as a landlord and developer.
David enrolled in NYU's Real Estate program to learn more about real estate academics, where he developed a network of like-minded peers. His colleagues and teachers at NYU's Schack Institute of Real Estate were invaluable to him. In 2006, David graduated with a BS in real estate. As a full-service boutique property management and brokerage firm, Camelot Realty Group was founded in 2006. Managing the buildings of his family and later those of investors. David expanded his services & resources in 2009 through a strategic alliance with Royalton Realty Group. He was able to provide in-house market reports to his management clients. It was fascinating to learn how an agent markets units for rent or sale, qualifies buyers and renters, develops letters of intent, and learns about purchase contracts, leases, and riders.
By collaborating with Camelot's attorneys and accounting firms, David gained experience identifying construction defects, structuring condominium and cooperative boards, and staffing and developing operational budgets for newly constructed buildings. He owns and manages his facilities. To run and maintain his properties, he hires licensed contractors and vendors.
Late in 2015, David joined Penn South Capital, a value-added investment and development firm. He is primarily responsible for consulting his operational experience, networking, and generating funds from real estate investors. With his knowledge of the Real Estate Business and ability to assess value-added deals, Penn South benefits from his expertise. David has been a licensed broker and certified property manager for over 16 years.
To help investors, boards, individual investors, buyers, and sellers reach their investment goals, we work closely with them. Our success is primarily attributed to our in-house teams, software, and leadership. David's primary focus is scale, cultivating, and partnering with larger investment groups such as family offices, private equity groups, and institutional investment trusts.
David is happily married with three children. He enjoys weightlifting, basketball, golf, tennis, art, and traveling with his family.
